For once in his life,
Eric had the day off from school on Friday.
A nice trip to Sedona was planned
with our good friends David and Breezy
and of course Dutch and Maylee too.
We have found our new favorite thing to do:
CAMP!
We arrived after dark on Thursday
and found a good campsite to set up home.
The night was a bit chilly,
but we survived by using every blanket we own
and piling on the clothes.

On Friday we feasted on eggs, bacon, hashbrowns and biscuits
before getting "cleaned up" to play.
Savannah and Dutch kept themselves busy
wandering through the trees and bushes,
playing in and around the cars
and eating junk food.
The little girls ate-- I mean-- played in the dirt
and were quite content sitting in the camp chairs.

We hiked our way down to Slide Rock
which was no easy task with 4 children.
Shoes were off and jeans were rolled up
to play in the freezing cold water.
Dutch and Savvy somehow ended up with no clothes at all
which would have been fine if I had remembered the sunscreen.
We splashed and played in the water
until the kids were worn out.

After naps we indulged in
foil dinners, cobbler and smores.
I don't think it gets any better than that.
The second night was quite a bit warmer
and everyone slept a little better.
The last morning was spent cleaning up and playing games
before heading home.
We're already looking at the calendar to find
another opportunity to go.
Hopefully the laundry from this trip
will be done by then.

looks like a lot of fun, we really enjoy camping but have never gone with friends. You should try slide rock when it is warmer too, it can be busier but way fun.
Wow that was such a fun trip. I can't wait to plan another one. And you are right, David does look rather girlie in my picture by at Slide rock, you have the more manly photo.
What a fun time! I'm jealous - we've been dying to get out camping. We should plan one together!
How fun!! And what cute pics! Love the girls just chillin in their chairs! :o)
Camping is so much fun. I especially love camping food like smores and cobbler.
