Move it, Move it.

Savannah watched the movie, Madagascar, this week.
This is now her new favorite thing to sing:
video
(And yes, she is still wearing her Halloween dress.)

Sleeping in

We've been catching up on our sleep this week
since there's been a lack of that lately.
At the beginning of the month, I received orders for 17 homemade calendars.
The only time to actually make any progress was in the middle of the night,
so I spent a few nights listening to Eric snore while I crafted away.
221 scrapbooked pages later, I was finished and exhausted. But not exhausted enough--
because then we decided to pack up our things
and move our little family to California right before Christmas.
Of course the girls were a big help unpacking boxes (that I had just packed)
and getting in the way.We broke our trip up into two days,
stopping to see our good friends, David, Breezy, Dutch and Maylee.
The girls walked right into their house and acted like
no time had passed since they had seen each other.
They giggled and talked and sang songs for about 2 hours
instead of going to bed.
Within an hour of arriving to our new home,
we had the Uhaul unpacked and returned.
No time to put things away, though.
Instead we ran the kitchen for a holiday party my parents hosted.
The next day was spent unpacking and getting settled
and now we're just starting to function normally.
Our first item of business here:
play outside (with no coats!!)
(Did you notice her first pig tails?)

Yet again...

In our 4 years of marriage,
Eric and I have learned to make plans for our family
and then expect them to change... drastically.
Remember how we weren't going to have kids right away?
Remember how we would never live in cold weather?
Yet each time they change,
our family becomes happier and stronger
and we just keep making more plans.

Anyways, our plans have changed yet again.
We're moving to California
on Friday.

For your viewing pleasure

There isn't much going on around here
which is why there's been a lack of posting.
That and the fact that I didn't take any pictures
over the Thanksgiving holiday.
We're still hanging around,
trying to stay warm.
Yes, the Halloween dress is still worn almost every single day.
The tulle is practically gone
but Savannah still loves it anyway.
The girls had a blast at Classic Skating last week with their cousins.
I didn't know those two could ride their bikes for so long.

And this is a common face now:
Vanessa's little attitude is in full force!!
I thought Savannah would be tough to raise,
but Vanessa will definitely be the one to challenge us.

Princess Date

Eric and I have been able to get away
on a few dates to the temple since we've moved to Utah.
Every time we head out, though,
Savannah insists that she must have a
date with her daddy when we get back.
Eric has been nice enough to take Savannah to the movies
(with the added bonus of ice cream)
and then on another lunch date where
Savvy got to feed and ride a horse!
She always comes home beaming with excitement
after the one-on-one time she spent with her daddy.

Last week Daddy spent some time with Vanessa and
passed a date opportunity with Savannah to me...
I don't know why he would skip this one,
but Savannah and I happily made our way downtown to
The Disney Princesses on Ice Show!!Savannah was pretty excited about the
"Princess Date" we were going on
even though she had no idea what to expect.
Her eyes were wide open and amazed as she took in all the excitement.
The show was great and Savannah held still the whole time,
occasionally turning on her princess light
and holding it up in the air.Even Mickey and Minnie Mouse made an appearance,
who happen to be Savvy's two favorite people right now.
It sure was fun to spend some time with my big girl!

Snow Day

It snowed yesterday.
Seriously snowed... for majority of the day.
Eric spent most of his morning running the snowblower
and shoveling snow.
We decided to take the girls out to play.
It took us 25 minutes just to get everyone dressed:Vanessa got stuck in this position many times:Savannah wasn't hesitant at all to play in the snow
which is good considering her feelings towards snow
the last time she had to deal with it.Considering my love of ice-chewing that I passed down the my daughters,
I showed them how to eat snow.
For the rest of afternoon, that's all Vanessa did.The poor girl's face was frozen
but that didn't stop her.
As I took the following picture,
Vanessa tripped and fell face-first straight into the snow.
She wasn't too happy about that.Savannah learned to make a snow angel.
Her daddy taught her the ropes and made big ones next to her. It's a little bit harder for the girls to ride the tire swing together
when they're wearing all of that snow gear.
Savvy kept a good hold on Vanessa, though. When we were thoroughly frozen,
we came inside and stripped everyone of their snow clothes.
Vanessa decided that this should be her outfit for the rest of the afternoon. We had a good time playing in the snow,
but I don't know how much we'll love it when it keeps coming
and coming... and coming...

Catch up

It seems like life has been moving slow
even though I have a long list of activities to document.

1. I finally made some time to craft.
A few new purses for the girls were first in line
and since then I've been getting a lot of little things done.
Hopefully the motivation and energy continue
because my list of projects never gets any shorter.Vanessa accompanied me to the craft store one evening.
We were looking over the fabric when
V caught sight of this green fabric
and asked to hold it.
Once she had it, she wouldn't let it go.
She kept hugging it and staring at it.
I finally decided I could spend an extra dollar for her
and she wouldn't even lend the fabric to the cashier
for fear that she would lose her beloved.
Now she can enjoy the fabric as a purse--
which she takes everywhere with her.2. Savannah is potty-trained.
Hallelujah!
It took a little while for me to decide to teach Savvy
but by the 4th day, she was trained.
No accidents here-- ever.
Savvy is a big girl!3. Savvy is still sporting her Halloween costume daily.
The tulle on the bottom is about 8 inches shorter,
but she still loves it.
It goes best with her Princess slippers,
which we purchased after a never-ending battle over wearing socks.
My Arizona girls just don't wear socks--
but their feet are always cold here in Utah.
4. Vanessa is just growing up too fast.
Her hair is getting longer but is still pretty thin,
so an experiment with the hair dryer and round brush
led to some big wild hair.
She only has about 9 words to her vocabulary despite being 19 months old.
Momma, dadda, sister, grandpa, grandma, apple, uh-oh, me and thank you.
All of those have developed just recently.
She sure can communicate, though,
and gets her point across quite easily.
She's started throwing terrible two tantrums which is really fun.
She thinks she should do anything her sister does
and most of the time she's successful.
She's such a happy kid to hang around.5. The girls have a love-hate relationship.
They love playing together
especially when Savvy tells Vanessa to be a dog,
and then Vanessa crawls around the house panting
with her tongue sticking out.
They love watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse together.
They can get into some major screaming matches
and Savannah taught Vanessa how to hit.
Oh, the joys of sisters!
