Tired
Savvy has been having a hard time going to sleep lately. Despite going to bed at 8:00, she has been up until at least 11:00 the past two nights. She just hangs out in her room. She chose not to take a nap on Monday as well, so she was a nightmare by the evening. I took all of the toys out again and am being a little more strict about nap time and bedtime. Yesterday she finally fell asleep on the couch for an hour:
I try really hard to put the girls to bed together so that they learn to sleep through each others' noise and so that Eric and I have a little bit of time without any kids. Savvy was playing in the room (instead of sleeping) the other day, though, so Vanessa was pushing the bumpers down to catch all the action in the room. She fell asleep enjoying the entertainment.
And since the girls are not sleeping well, we are not sleeping well. For the past two nights, Eric has put Vanessa to bed in our room so that Savannah wouldn't wake her up anymore. He's pretty quick to volunteer for this job... probably because it means that he'll get a nap!
Aside from sleeping, we're doing well. Vanessa figured out on her own how to go from crawling to sitting up. She's pretty proud of herself every time she does it. She plays for a while and then gets upset because she can not go back to crawling. We'll have to work on that one this week.

Oh, the joys of non-sleeping toddlers. Although I do have to side with Eric, there is nothing better than snuggling up with your baby and taking a nap. They are just so sweet at that age, especially when they are sleeping next to you. Savy's hair is adorable, she looks very grown up. Hugs to all.
Sleep is the most important thing in the world - I'm convinced of that. Mom's sleep is always dependent on the kids' sleep -- which means that having kids sleep well is the upmost important thing in the world. I'm so sorry that Savvy is having a tough time. I hope that she/you guys can pull through it. Good luck!
How cute are those pics!! Such little cuties!! Hopefully the sleeping issues end soon!
I'm so sorry about the non-sleeping thing. I've come to really appreciate my sleep over the child years; that's awful that none of you are getting any. I hope it gets better.
Vanessa is a doll!
