Newborn Phase

We have had Ethan for 6 weeks now.
The newborn phase has flown by so quickly.
I feel like I was just barely pregnant, we just barely brought him home
and we just barely added him to our family.
Ethan has already grown out of a few outfits
and is starting to fatten up around his 'chicken' legs.
He is already so alert and attentive toward the girls
and starts looking for them when he hears them singing.
He smiles at us a lot in the morning
and especially after he has taken a bath.

I also feel the last 6 weeks have gone so slow.
Having had an easy recovery and an easy baby,
I feel like I've been able to enjoy every second of Ethan.
I've made an effort to talk to Ethan and get to know him,
sing songs to him instead of put him down,
teach the girls how to hold him instead of shooing them away,
and rock him instead of cleaning the house.
Ethan has such a sweet personality
that I feel like I am already able to understand.

I think I'm going to miss the newborn phase!
