We had a great Christmas despite being far away from all of our extended family.
The week started out with colds and naps,
but ended with friends, family, and lots of Christmas fun.
On Friday, Eric didn't have to work,
so we played games all morning, and then since it was so nice outside,
we walked down the trail by our house and found a giant park.
The girls got to ride their bikes and play.
The rest of the afternoon was spent hanging out.
We had a nice ham and potato dinner, followed by a family home evening,
new pajamas and games
After leaving a treat out for Santa with a note
(as well as opening the fireplace doors so that Santa could get in)
Savannah went to bed at 7:20.
Vanessa had taken a long nap that afternoon,
so she got to stay up a little longer.
After Vanessa went to bed at 9:00,
Santa visited and then Eric and I went to bed early too!
This morning was very fun. The girls were very excited that Santa
had eaten his treats, left a note and especially left presents
(and not big black rocks of yuckiness!).
We opened presents, with the girls helping
me and Eric open each of ours too.
The girls made out with all of the princesses, coloring books, I spy bags, Pascal stuffed animals and a little set of table and chairs.
They also were thrilled to get ALL of the movies that they used to watch at grandma's house that they didn't have anymore since we moved.
Vanessa hugged Mary Poppins for about 2 hours.
The day has been spent relaxing, napping,
playing the Wii, watching movies, and dancing around the house.
What a great day spent together as a family.
