A New Home... Finally

After a whole month of homelessness
we received the keys to our new home on November 1.
We are so thankful to all of the family who took care of us,
but we are also very thankful we finally have a place for our family.

Day 1:
We received the keys, unloaded the cleaning supplies and food and started working.
The girls found some of the boxes of toys.Day 2:
The girls introduced the dog, Spaz, to the new house.
Eric and I moved one large load of boxes from the storage unit into the house.
The girls unpacked every box of toys they could find.
Our new church ward came to help out... in 43 minutes they completely emptied the storage unit, drove to our new home and had every single belonging inside our house.
Day 3:
The entire kitchen was unpacked.
Every cupboard was cleaned out. The floor was mopped.
Every dish, pan, bowl, spoon was washed and put away.
The girls fended for themselves.Day 4:
The bomb of toys was cleaned up in the girls' room and the room became functional.
The girls became resourceful.
Day 5-13:
I unpacked boxes, organized the garage, washed and dried every single piece of clothing, sheet, pillowcase, towel and rug that we own.
Every baseboard, window, toilet and tile were scrubbed.
Some decorations were put out.
The girls started to feel at home.
The screws that attach the table legs to the kitchen table are still missing.Day 14-19:
The family room became semi-useful.
Eric bought new screws to attach the legs to the kitchen table.
I continued to unpack boxes and organize our home.
The girls played the piano for hours on end.
It snowed outside.
Day 20 (Today):
I made peanut butter cookies, homemade bread, tortillas and pumpkin pie.
The rest of those boxes can wait.

I love love love the house. It looks so pretty and so big. And I see that you have a place set up for your crafts, that's so fun. I'm glad that you guys are getting settled. It sounds like you had a lot of work to do. I didn't know you made your own tortillas, when did you start doing that?

I'm always impressed with you! I don't know if I could have gone non-stop at that pace for 20 days. Your house looks amazing and I'm so glad that life is settling down for you!
