Our sweet little Vanessa turned two today.
The day was filled with little activities to make her smile.
We had waffles and strawberries for breakfast.
Grandma helped us make a special "2" shirt.
I was very, very tempted to write
"Terrible 2"
but somehow resisted.
She has done plenty lately to be deemed terrible.
Exhibit A:
That would be eyeliner and two sticks of lipstick
smeared all over Vanessa's face, hands and dress on Sunday.
While Eric freaked out about V and her clothes and
I freaked out about what the carpet may look like,
grandma laughed and grabbed the camera.

Exhibit B:
Vanessa volunteered to paint Savannah's new bike with mud
after they were finished throwing rocks into the puddles.
Savannah wasn't so happy about it,
which is how it came to my attention.
Yet again, grandma grabbed the camera
while I grabbed the hose.
But nonetheless, we love our little monster,
especially on her birthday.
We went out to lunch to celebrate and then
Vanessa went wild as she played with the balloons.

Pizza with extra dip (ranch dressing) fed her little tummy.
Then it was on to cupcakes and presents.

And now as Vanessa sleeps,
happy to be two,
I wipe the sweat off of my brow
congratulating myself that I've survived her attitude,
stubbornness and mischievous ways for two whole years.
I can't wait to see what she does in the next year!

Happy Birthday Vanessa! I really wish we could have been there to celebrate. I just love that little girl.
P.S. love the shirt and matching bow, adorable!
What a little cutie! Congratulations mom on making it this far :)
Oh she has grown so much since you guys moved!
She is so stinking cute! Love her little attitude (but that doesn't mean you can send her to me... ) I have to be honest - I laughed all the way through your post!
Happy Birthday Vanessa!
