The girls and I have had an eventful weekend.
We drove home from Vernal on Friday evening,
leaving Rhett to care for his entire family
on his own for the weekend.
Our drive was nice and smooth until Provo Canyon,
where the darkness and winding roads
combined with
Vanessa's sudden gagging and hurling
made me a little too anxious.
I pulled over to see that
Vanessa hadn't actually thrown up very much,
so we just kept moving along to get back to Herriman.
The poor girl must have been car sick--
she was happy to get out of the car
and go to bed that night.
On Saturday, we were invited by some great friends,
Travis and Aubrey,
to go to the Salt Lake Bees game.
We headed downtown via Trax.
The girls loved riding on the train!!
Both of them couldn't hold still
the entire ride because they were so excited.
Our tickets were for the 3rd row
along the 1st base line
and we had extra seats,
so Eric and I both got to sit in our own seats
and the girls shared the seat in between us.

In about the 4th inning,
a guy at bat hit a few foul balls.
On his third one, I heard the bat hit the ball,
then saw a ball coming straight for us
and then I felt the ball
hit the seat next to me.
The ball had flown full speed
IN BETWEEN THE GIRLS' HEADS
and HIT THE SEAT
THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO BE SITTING IN.
It happened so fast
I couldn't figure out who had been hit
so I looked straight at Vanessa
to see if she reacted in any way.
Thank goodness the girls had been standing up
(for no reason at all-- they just can't hold still)
and no one was hurt at all.
I can't even imagine the damage
that could have happened.
During the game,
Vanessa decided to perfect this silly face.
She thought she was hot stuff
making everyone laugh.

We ended the night with the Bees winning the game
and a great fireworks show.
The girls loved the 2nd train ride.
They were sound asleep before we could get them home to bed.

I'm glad that nothing happened; that is so scary!
That face is hilarious! James is getting to the age too when he will continue to do things if he knows we're laughing at him.
Oh that was SO much fun! I still crack up every time I see those pictures of Vanessa! Thank goodness the girls had the wiggles huh? They would've been eating baseball for dinner!
Wow that could have been really bad. One of those times to just count your many blessings.
I love Vanessa's face in those pictures. What a silly girl.
