Our weekend flew by and was quite productive-- we went to the temple, I cleaned the church building with the Young Women, we did some Christmas shopping, I spoke in Sacrament meeting while Eric wrestled the girls on his own, we went to the Cardinals/Giants football game, and many other things-- but everything kind stopped Sunday afternoon when Vanessa woke up from her nap. She definitely had a giant case of PINK EYE! She was perfectly fine even hours before at church and she played happily before her nap, but when she woke up, she looked like this:
My apologies and sympathies already go out to anyone who saw her this weekend and comes down pink eye in the next few days. She definitely didn't act like anything was wrong beforehand. So in order to curb the problem as fast as possible, Vanessa and I headed out to Urgent Care. We went to Goodnight Pediatrics on McDowell and 103rd (for those of you around here) and were in and out with a prescription in under 30 minutes . After Vanessa went to bed with antibiotic under her eyes, I proceeded to disinfect my whole house and have continued to do so about every hour-- basically every time I walk in and out of a room it is disinfected. Vanessa's eye looked quite swollen this morning:
And after her nap this morning, it wasn't oozing anymore, so it looks like we're on the road to recovery-- as long as no one else gets it!
To finish up, here are a couple of cute pictures of the girls in some new dresses...

I love the material you chose for Vanessa's blanket. She is going to love that. You are so crafty. I am dying to see your other projects. I may call you just to get some ideas.
Good luck with that pink eye! Yikes!
Cute blanket. My mother-in-law makes all the grandkids a shag quilt when they're born and both of my boys love theirs. I have a lot of crafts planned for Christmas presents too...hopefully I'll find the motivation one of these nights to bring out the sewing machine and get them done. Good news about pink eye here--Austin has gotten it twice and it has never spread to anyone else. And, I am definitely not a disinfecter so you're already doing better than me. Good luck!
i hate pink eye, but thankfully it goes away quick when treated! Savvy's hair is so cute in the last picture of her! i love it. Oh, and for some reason my blog says it was updated a week ago on your side bar thing, but i just did it today, so i don't know why it doesn't work..
pink eye is the devil, it never dies. i hope it only stays with vanessa, it did a couple rounds between haylie and i when she was about vanessa's age. i think ryan got it too.
something odd I read that is supposed to help... breast milk. odd to quirt the kid on purpose instead of on accident, we had no insurance so i tried it it seemed to help haylie.
great talk by the way, i stayed just to hear it :o)
I LOVE that blanket! You are Wonder Woman for all you do!
Poor Vanessa! That looks so sore.
I have some drops if you need them. Jayden had a case of pink eye when he was just 3 months old. It actually goes away really quick after using the drops.
Ok...so I LOVE your blanket! Very, very cute.
Poor little girl her eye looked awful. I'm gald she's getting over that.
Her blanket turned out adorable, good job.
This is so funny to me because Grace just came down with pink eye today! She was fine this morning and by this evening her poor eye was oozing everywhere. Crazy how fast it comes on. Oh, and I love the girl's dresses!
