My Smart Little Girl

Savannah's language is exploding right now. Everyday she says new words and it is so fun to see her grow. In the car the other day she said "water." She now says mommy and daddy instead of just ma and da (actually they sound like MOMMMMY and DAAAA-EEEE and are extra loud). She says "hand" when she wants to hold your hand and "toes." She can say "four" and "nine" when we're counting. She tells the dog to "stay" and yesterday she told me "stop."

Savvy is also learning about letters. She can identify B, D, C, S, H, M, O, E, A and learned Y today. She is so cute when she clearly says each letter after you draw it on paper. She has a cup that has her name on it and she points to each letter one at a time and then says "Sabby." She has such an awesome personality and while she gets quite moody sometimes, she is a blast to play with.

After holding Vanessa for a few seconds, she always picks her up and kisses her... and no one was hurt when this picture was taken.
Savvy can't handle anyone holding the baby unless they are holding her too. She sits down next to you, takes your hand and puts it around her shoulders. It makes nursing and burping Vanessa very interesting.
And we can't leave out Vanessa. She is such a sweet baby. She's super happy and calm as long as she is fed. If there is any empty space in her tummy, though, she lets you know.
I'm so glad that Savannah likes her sister. She runs to the crib yelling "uh-oh" if she hears Vanessa cry and is always covering her with a blanket, bringing her binkie to her, patting her back and giving her kisses. And despite being squeezed and tortured, Vanessa always stops crying and is calm when Savvy is holding her. Hopefully they'll always be good friends. Thank goodness it's Friday. Despite all my bragging about my girls, I am absolutely exhausted... enough that I didn't care one bit that Savvy watched cartoons and ate tortilla chips out of the bag for breakfast this morning while I snoozed on the couch. I may not get a break in the night with Vanessa, but at least Eric will be home during the day for a while to help out. He finished up his class this morning and now has 6 weeks off. He's done an amazing job so far in school and deserved every single minute of this break-- too bad it includes knee surgery and at least 20 hours of driving in the car.

Savvy is such a character. Now is the time when you really have to start watching what words come out of your mouth!! Vanessa is changing already; what cuties!

Savy seems so big next to vanessa. Isn't it funny how your baby instantly becomes a toddler when you have a new one? Such cute girls, we miss Savy and can't wait to meet Vanessa!

I can't wait to hear Savvy talk or should I say scream. She is adorable. Vanessa still looks so tiny, do you feel like she's getting bigger? I can't wait to hold her.

Savvy is so funny! I love her pictures. Vanessa is getting to look not so much like a newborn anymore. Crazy how fast things change. I love when the kids start to talk, it makes things easier since they can tell you what they want or don't want instead of screaming at you!!
